Two Weeks

“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”
Colossians 4:5

These past days have been full. Full of work, full of business, full of fun, and fellowship. Two weeks ago, I headed up to the Northwoods to help staff the Verity Journey to the Heart. It was a wonderful time for the Verity students as they sought the Lord, received teaching, and fellowship with like minded believers. As the Verity students left for Indianapolis, we as a staff prepared for the annual Headquarters retreat there in the Northwoods. Thomas joined me in the Northwoods with the rest of the staff. We had a lot of fun…even though it was a lot of work. =) Monday of last week, the rest of our family came up to the Northwoods after having been down in Indianapolis for a night. Mom was coming to attend the first Mother’s Journey that we have ever had. Over 160 mothers would be attending and we were excited about what the Lord was going to do. As the staff left for Headquarters and the mothers began to arrive, the Northwoods Conference Center became a bustling place of action. It was pretty exciting!

Much has happened over these past two week. =) The Lord has really been good to us. We all enjoyed our time in the Northwoods immensely. The weather was simply gorgeous and the leaves have just started changing colors…which means the peak of color in Northwoods will probably be within the next couple of weeks (I am still trying to figure out how to get up there during this time =). Though we were kept pretty busy, we still had an opportunity to get out on the water and have a lot of fun. Most of us got to go on a plane ride around NW…it was awesome! Hannah, Abby, and Brielle all got a chance to water ski for the first time. They were naturals! The boys all got a chance to go tubing…even Mom went tubing. It was a blast!

We were not the only ones who walked away from this time blessed, the mothers who came for this Journey went home encouraged, edified, and strengthened. It was truly a blessing to see how this conference blessed so many people.

Well, I think that’s all for now. God bless your weekend ~

Love the pictures! So glad you all were able to spend time up at the NW–sounds like it was great fun. We heard from several of the moms how incredible their Journey was and how blessed they were by your family during that time. We’re looking forward to seeing you all next week!

I am so grateful for all the work you guys did up in the Northwoods! All the meals, many of which you helped with, were amazing and the housekeeping and chores was muchly appreciated, though not always noticed.

I can’t believe some of the mothers went tubing during the Mother’s Journey. That one picture is just hillarious! I love the picture of fishing at sunset. Lots of the pictures have creative angles and spontaneous expressions.

Thanks for taking the time to post about your travels!
