Indiana

God called our family to leave the country to serve Him in the ministry. I do not regret leaving…but I sure do miss the country life. It was really refreshing to go back to Indiana this past weekend and visit some good friends that live on a farm. It was this
family that sparked my love for the farm. We did not do much as far as work is concerned, but we had a great time of fellowship. Some of the guys got to run off and do a little fishing. As you can see, our fishing expedition turned into a competition for who could catch the largest….minnow. =) Our time was not all play. One afternoon we headed to the potato patch to dig some tubers. This years crop of reds was not the greatest, but we still had fun digging. All in all…we were blessed.
There is just something unique and unparalleled about being away from the fast-paced life in the city and simply enjoying God and His handiwork in a place of serenity.
The weather was unusually cool, but it was refreshing. I was amazed at some of the awesome displays of cloud banks. With the different fronts moving in, there were numerous cloud banks that were just incredible.
Our time on the farm passed all to quickly…

Sometimes God’s ways don’t make any sense…but that’s ok, because He has always been faithful to lead and guide our family in a way that is best. There are lot of “ways” that are good…but God’s way is the best. Trusting only Him, we press forward as a family for the prize of the high calling that God has for us. Praise the Lord…He is so good.
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.” Psalm 37:3-7

As ‘someone’ had it posted on his gmail status, “You can take a boy out of the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the boy.”
What a memorable weekend!
Thank your for sharing the words and pictures of your time at the farm! I’m sure you had a great time! Real farming is all about meeting basic needs in the way the Creator intended them to be met. And we can be doing that wherever we are, and see the beautiful results that God is looking for. I appreciate your wise perspective in serving Christ with “no reserves, no retreats, no regrets”.
From the pictures, I can tell there were a whole lot of enjoyable activities! I remember when I noticed that ya’lls camper had left Colonial; it’s neat to see what it was being used for.
Hey Paines!
Hope you’re all doing well and that things are going good there at HQ and sounded from Tabi like you all just had a late trip back from the Northwoods. Looking forward to seeing all at the wedding. May God’s grace abound toward you. Enjoy looking over the website here and there – nice pics!
