Home Again

God did such an awesome work this past week. As I ponder all that took place, all I can do is simply thank Him for the things that He accomplished in the hearts and lives of each young man that went on this Journey. So much took place in the 5 days that we were up there. The weather was unusually cool (I heard that there are only two days out of the month of July in the history of Watersmeet, MI,  that it has not snowed…and thankfully it did not =), but I believe that it helped us all keep focused. The cooler weather did discourage the mosquitoes and flies…which was a tremendous blessing!

Several young men were saved on this trip and many lives were transformed. For me personally, it was a challenge as far as the physical side of things go. It seems that the 6 weeks of being at HQ have been non-stop…and sleep was greatly lacking. But the Lord sustained me throughout the week.

The Northwoods conference center is one of my favorite places in the entire earth. The tranquility of the place…the gentle breeze that drifts across the lake as a loon calls out in the night…the mass of stars that is simply indescribable…the beauty of the snow in the winter times as it gently falls…the majesty and glory of each sunrise and sunset…the spectacular colors in the fall…and the list goes on and on. It was here in this place that many a young person has sought the Lord. Many people have found the true gift of salvation in this quite place of refuge, free from the business and distractions of the world. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to go and I look forward to the next chance I get to go up. Thanks for all your prayers…God truly did a marvelous, transforming work in many lives. Follow the Journey blog site to read about some of the testimonies from the week (they should be posted soon).

“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Psalm 73:25-26

- Chad

PS…I was especially grateful for Mr. Bob Norvell and that he got to go on this Journey…he was such an inspiration to me and the guys. He has served on numerous Journeys in the past and is my adopted grandpa. =)

Amen, Chad. I can definitely say that this was a life changing week for me!
By being at the northwoods with all the beauty and quietness, spending time alone by the lake, and praying with the guys in the group, God was able to show me that the main things in life are to seek him and love him with all my heart.
Thanks for giving of your time to lead our group!

To God be the glory for the great things He hath done! I’ve been hearing bits and pieces trickling in over the past week of how God worked in the lives of these young men. Thank you Chad for your discipleship heart!

God definitely touch my life on this glorious journey, as well as many young men. It was so encouraging to see so many seeking God whole-heartedly. Such an awesome revelation about meditation! Looking forward to the transformation that will continue on in my heart from the things that I have learned during this life-changing experience. Thank you Chad for your servant’s heart. It was a joy to meet you. You truly are a living example of His character. I trust we will meet again. God Bless all.
