An Afternoon Away

We recently slipped out to a friends cabin to spend an afternoon away just as a family. The cabin is south of Indianapolis, out in the country situated an a property that consists of woods and small fields. The weather was simply beautiful. Our time there was a wonderful time of rest, fellowship, and simply enjoying being a family.
I am thankful for the times that we are able to spend together. They not only make for wonderful memories, but it gives us a chance to reflect on God’s goodness to our family. The time passed quickly, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

As we were preparing to go, I decided to try to do something that I have always wanted to do with a camera, and that is take a picture of the stars at night. I love watching sunsets and sunrises and gazing at the stars of the heavens. In places such as the Northwoods, the beauty of the stars is simply indescribable. I believe these things give us a small taste of the handiwork and creativity of the God whom we serve. For He is our Creator and the heavens truly do declare His glory. I was able to capture a glimpse of that glory on that starlit night…without a tripod. =) Praise the Lord, it was a great trip!
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the earth displays His handiwork. Day by day, they declare it and night by night they express the knowledge of God. There is tongue or language where their voice is not heard. ~Psalm 19:1-3 ~

Awesome pictures!
I too have tried getting some night shots with the stars, they are harder, but a lot of fun
Looks like it was a fun day!
Those times with the family are priceless!!…..
Great shots Chad! You really know how to capture the beauty of God’s creation!!
Psalms 19:1
P.S Happy Mother’s Day to your mom!
Kudos on the nice pics! Looks like a fun, relaxing time. How on earth did you capture the stars like that without a tripod??
