Sweet Sixteen

“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” II Timothy 2:2
One of the ways that I know that time is passing so quickly is by watching my younger siblings growing up into mature young men and women. Hannah celebrated a birthday this past month. This was not just a normal birthday party, but Hannah and Dad chose to make this one significantly special.
It was a time of commitment.
For Hannah, it was a choice to keep herself pure for her husband, to await her father’s full blessing upon marriage and to focus upon the Lord at this point in her life. For Dad, it was a commitment to be her protector, to give wise counsel and to seek the Lord’s best for a future life partner. One of the passages that meant a lot to Hannah in this commitment-making time is found in the fortieth chapter of Isaiah, verse 31:
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Hannah has chosen to wait on the Lord for His perfect timing for the future, trusting Him for the strength and grace to love Him as she ought. This was an exciting time as a family which will always be remembered. An additional token of remembrance was given to Hannah to be worn as a reminder of her commitment to the Lord and to Dad.
Praise the Lord for the things that He is doing!!

P.S. Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!!!
Happy belated birthday, Hannah! What an marvelous testimony! I’m so excited for you! Trust the Lord with all your heart, and as the Lord told me a few days ago, “Be faithful.” Be faithful in all things—in the work and relationship He has called you into at this time in your life.
God’s richest blessings on you, my sister in Christ!
