Journey 34, a Dynamic Group
Posted by Chad 09 21st, 2007
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower;the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10The name of the Lord truly
is a place of refuge. I had another opportunity to spend a week getting to know God better up in the North woods of upper Michigan with a group of guys. Each one on the Journey team met the Lord in a new and real way…for some, it was life changing. It was such a privilege to be surrounded with the Lord’s majesty and to simply seek Him.
As I listened to loons calling early in the morning as a mist rose up from off the lake and I heard the distant calls of birds and felt the gentle breeze, my heart just filled with an awe of who God is.
I think of the many passages of where Jesus would often resort to a secluded place to spend time with His Heavenly Father (Mark 1:35). One of the passages that really spoke to me during this time was two verses in Psalm 119. Verses 132 and 133 say,“Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”This was my prayer to the Lord during this time.My hearts desire was that God would just show Himself
to me in a unique and special way. I so wanted my steps to be directed according to His Word so that I would walk in His will and not my own.I praise the Lord for His work in my life and His faithfulness to work in other peoples lives that truly have a passion and desire to know God.

Great report, Chad! I got to talk with a lot of the guys after they returned and was thrilled to hear how the Lord met with each one of them in a life-changing way. Praise God! Only He satisfies the heart.
Chad! I was just thinking of how nice it would be to see some of the beautiful sights you all are encountering from the Northwoods – wow! They bring to mind passages of Scripture – “Be Still my Soul, the name of the Lord is as a strong tower, When I consider the heavens…what is man that thou art mindful of Him, As the deer panteth for the water so longeth my soul after Thee O God….”
Praise our Creator for His dynamic workings in, and through, and all around us. To God be the glory, great things He hath done. You are in my prayers brother!
