Upcoming Family Retreat

Just a quick update on the Paine family.  We are about to embark on a “Family Retreat” to strengthen and encourage each other…just as a family.  We are excited about this upcoming event and hope to be able to share with you about our adventure when we return.

As a family, we recognize the need to get alone and rest in the Lord so that we might be most effective for HIM.  Even Jesus encouraged his disciples to “…come ye yourselves into a desert place, and rest awhile…” (Mark 6:31)  After ministering to the vast multitudes of people, Jesus also himself would go to a quiet place to pray and spend time with His Father (Mark 6:46)

                                            Wilderness

Our desire is that this time would be a time of seeking the Lord, family fellowship and a time to reflect on what God has been doing in our lives.  Please pray for us for traveling protection and wisdom and guidance.  May the Lord bless you all.

The Lord bless you and the family, Chad. May you draw closer to one another and most importantly, the Lord. All too often we allow the busyness of life and the distractions of the world crowd out the most important things: our realtionship with Christ and our family.

So where will the Paines be off to this time? Northwoods? Keep alert while driving! And enjoy some fresh wilderness air.

What a wise idea. We’ll look forward to hearing where your “desert place” was and what the Lord taught you there. Did you know the Israelites set out into their desert place about this time of year? The 20th of March is the day their first month would begin this year and it was on the night between the 14 and 15th of that month that the time finally came for the first Passover and the exodus! God go with you–and bless you with determination in following Him.
