A Family Camping Trip

Fall began with a family camping trip. We had not camped for a few years and did not know how it would all work out. It was “fun!” Perfect weather and a beautiful state park (Beaver’s Bend) in southeast Oklahoma. We were introduced to “trout fishing” for the first time. Danny was hooked. We also went canoeing and kayaking. As we were peacefully floating down the river, The girls decided that they would switch seats in the canoe. Keep in mind 3 girls in a canoe with skirts on. Well as they were attempting to do this, I noticed two fishermen by the shore. One man dropped his fishing pole, ran to his truck, and ran back with cell phone extended to include the view of my three girls. Now, I think the girls are beautiful, but I was convinced he was really waiting for a Kodak moment (youtube moment) lol! Just for the record, they gracefully exchanged but not without a bit of giggling and outbursts. We really did enjoy our time camping together. We are so thankful to the Lord for allowing such a memory to be made!

Growing Paines…Family!

We are growing as a family. What a joy! We certainly do not take for granted “Family.” It means different things to different people. To us it means:

      *God ordained

*Someone to laugh and cry with

    *Someone to grow with

    *Someone to give counsel

*Someone to share joys and failures with

    *Someone to experience life with

*Somewhere safety, comfort, and peace reside

*Somewhere the foundations of principle and purpose is established

*A building block of a community, a state, a nation

We could go on and on…We realize that not everyone has a “family” or perhaps their family has a shattered picture. We thank God for His great mercies in our family!  But acknowledge that God is bigger than shattered pictures and can redeem, revive, and restore families.

In August, we had an opportunity to visit with Chad,Erin and baby Carson in Tennessee. Thomas and Dakota came from Missouri, Nate from Florida and Tabitha from Arkansas. During our time as a family we did a photo shoot. We think this photo shoot has been the most fun in our history of family photo shoots! It was such a blessing to pray, talk, and laugh together once more.

Summer Fun with Family and Friends!

Birthday’s This Summer…

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you.” Jeremiah 29:11

The summer months of July and August brought the Paine family to celebrate four birthdays. First Josiah, turning 17. He has been working a part-time landscaping job as well as helping us with clearing some of the property this summer. He definitely can be a work horse. God has been doing a great work in his heart and life and he is seeking what the Lord would have him do in the future.

Then Abby at twenty-one is now at home with us for a season. We are just having fun making new memories with her at home. She is looking forward to serving with our church in the children’s bus ministry and continues to seek God’s will for the next step in her life.

August came and Johnny turned 13! My, my…how time flys indeed. I remember the day he was born. I was in labor and decided to take a walk to the mailbox (1/4mile) and returned with the mail and a few minutes later had a baby boy! We were thrilled! Johnny loves people and has a tender heart. He enjoys science and is praying about being a doctor, but he hates math /=

Nate turned a quarter of a century! He is still serving in the prison in the sunshine state. He surprised us by coming home for two weeks after his birthday! Hooray! Shooting, Silver Dollar City, volleyball, playing games, and going out for coffee took place while the big brother was home (= Nate always appreciates prayer for wisdom, discretion, and to have a heart that is full of Christ’s love for those whom he serves.

Most importantly, you have grown your relationship with your Lord and Saviour. As you seek the Lord for the next step in life, we will be praying for you.

We are grateful for all those who have invested in Brielle’s life, whether through instruction or prayer. We know God has wonderful plans for her life.

Family time…

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is  the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (Matthew 22:37-39).   Relationships are vital whether they are with family or friends. We were so blessed to have the privilege of taking four days away to spend with our immediate family. Just catching up on rest, extra time with the Lord, small talks and big talks =), fun, new experiences, and making memories! Although the weather was chilly near Branson, Missouri, we enjoyed hot drinks, the fireplace and chatting. We also were able to spend a day with Thomas, Dakota, and Asia (Dakota’s younger sister), fun, fun! Please pray for Thomas and Dakota as they minister in the Philippines for the month of May. On our way home, we were able to visit the Precious Moments Chapel and grounds.

Big Sandy, Texas!

In April, we had the opportunity, to meet old friends and make new friends at a homeschool conference. We were also spiritually encouraged and challenged to draw near to God. Since we attended as a family, it also opened a door for our family to reconcile with one another. Living together with more than just yourself can sometimes lend to disagreements, easily hurt feelings and misunderstandings.  Although, we strive to keep short accounts with each other, problems can be easily overlooked.  However, getting away from the routine of life can help reveal blind spots and unresolved issues.  We are so very grateful for this special time together in Big Sandy.   And, yes, Danny got to fly again.  This time with Mom and Abby in the back seat…..Whew…we’re all still here!!!! Thanks John!

Before going to Big Sandy, Mom, Tabitha and Johnny drove over to Tennessee to see Chad and Erin for a few days. Mom and Tabitha attended Erin’s shower for baby Carson, while Johnny went to work with Chad!  We covet your prayers for a safe delivery for Mom and baby.

When we love God and walk in a right relationship with Him, we will have the right focus and love each other as we should.

We really appreciate those who take time to make comments on our website. We also appreciate your prayers for our family.

A Biblical perspective serves as a stark contrast to the ever changing mind of the present day culture where children are often viewed as an inconvenience or perhaps a burden.

In the Paine household we desire God to be on the throne of our hearts, minds, actions and attitudes. We view children as: a blessing not baggage, a reward not a regret, a privilege not a problem, a help not a hindrance, a benefit to community not a burden to society. We really cannot express how excited we are about Chad and Erin’s pregnancy. This couple certainly does not take for granted the privilege of the ability to carry a baby. We praise God for maintaining this wonderful life. It’s a boy and his name will be Charles S. Paine the 4th, better known as “Carson”. ETD sometime at the beginning of June..lol. God has truly blessed us with a grandchild!!!!!…Another mouth to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord!

The end of Psalm 127 states “Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them(children)”; While realizing that no man’s quiver is exactly the same, we praise God for determining the number of arrows in our quiver. May they be straight and sharp to hit the target intended by their Maker for generations to come! Congratulations Chad and Erin! Soooooo excited for you!

Lots of hands to hold and lots of hearts to love him with!!!! xoxoxo
